Arsenal Speak out with Orlando City striker Facundo Torres
Arsenal have held talks with Orlando City over the possible transfer of Facundo Torres in the current winter transfer window.
The Gunners have long been admirers of the Uruguayan star and are ready to land the 22-year-old after losing out to Chelsea on the signing of Mykhailo Mudryk.
It was reported that Arsenal's coaching staff sees Torres as a potential replacement for Bukayo Saka and sees many advantages in playing him.
"Orlando City confirmed to me that there had been contacts with Arsenal, but then I left for the World Cup and didn't want to hear about a potential transfer at the time," Torres said in the 90th minute.
"So the conversation just stayed there, but now that I'm back with the team, we'll see where the conversation goes."
He continued: "I would like to play in Europe. It's a dream I've had since I was a child. For now, my focus is on Orlando City. La Liga or the Premier League would be my goals, and that's where the rumors come from. But yeah, I'd like to.
Torres is one of Orlando City's key players and led them to the US Open Cup title in 2022.
He joined the club from Penarol last January for a club record, and it didn't take him long to adjust to MLS as he provided nine goals and 10 assists in 33 appearances.
